Volunteer opportunities at the La Crescent Food Shelf
Orientation and Training are provided for all duties.
Open Hours Helper
Assist shoppers as needed and keep food shelves stocked.
Wed. 1-3 PM or 3-5 PM
Thurs. 2-4 PM or 4-6 PM
2nd Sat. of the month 8:30-10 AM or 10 AM-12 PM
Open Hours Preparation
Arrange/stock produce, bakery products, meats and dairy for open hour shopping.
Wed. 9-10 AM, 11:30 - 12:30 PM
Thu. 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Unload and stock food from the food bank truck (Channel One)
1st & 3rd Tue. 9 - 10 AM
2nd & 4th Thu. 10:30 - 11:30 AM
Unload local shopping vehicles
Tue. 1 - 2 PM
Hunger Task Force Shopping
Pickup food at the local food bank.
Wed. & Thu. 10:30 AM - Noon
Local Shopping
Pickup groceries at local stores; having a large vehicle or pickup truck is helpful.
Tuesday early afternoon, 2-3 times a month.
Cleaning
0nce a week, after open hours, the food shelf needs light cleaning. Flexible day/time
Office or Computer Help
Data entry, graphics layout, scrapbook making and other tasks as requested by the program manager.
