Appleseed Community Theater: Interested in being part of a fun, local production? Appleseed puts on two great shows per year and volunteers are always welcome. La Crescent Bike Shoppe: Our volunteers work hard year-round keeping community member's bikes in great shape. They also help tune up bikes for sale and donation. If interested in volunteering at the shop, please contact Linda Larson, Program Manager at 608-790-2580 for more information.
Neighbors in Action: This vital program provides assistance to older and disabled adults in the Houston County Area. They help with tasks that are difficult to manage to help people stay living in their own homes longer. Volunteers are matched with older neighbors to provide companionship, lawn/ snow removal and transportation. Touching Moments and Windy Ridge Ranch Therapeutic Center: With Touching Moments, volunteers take their special pets to healthcare facilities throughout Houston County and surrounding communities to socialize and be petted, creating a therapeutic atmosphere. In addition, the program offers the service of a reading program which helps improve a child’s reading skills using dog companions. The Windy Ridge Ranch Center provides fun and educational opportunities to enhance the participant’s emotional physical, and psychological development through the use of horses. La Crescent Community Garden: Interested in being part of a growing community? The garden offers members the opportunity to grow their own fresh, seasonal produce. One can have their own garden plot or volunteer helping others in the garden. If interested in volunteering, please contact Diane, Program Manager at Diane.Palm@LaCrescentHCP.org.
Neighbors Day: An annual one-day event (held annually in April) that serves older adults and other individuals who need assistance with spring yard work.
