La Crescent Neighbors Day

Program Description

An annual one-day event that serves older adults and other individuals who need assistance with spring yard work. Volunteers work in teams to rake lawns and wash windows. Each year the Neighbors Day Committee has coordinated approximately 200 community volunteers to make this day a reality. Volunteer teams include families, businesses, service organizations and church and school groups. Through their tremendous support,  community teams served hundreds of households since the event started in 2006.

La Crescent Neighbors Day April 18, 2026

Spring is nearly here!

La Crescent Neighbors Day 2026 will be held April 18, 8 a.m. to noon.  Now is the time to grab a rake, get your team together, and join in this community-wide event.  Please encourage others you know to join in!  

If you need assistance, OR if you would like to volunteer that day, register by April 4th so we can match volunteers with neighbors that need assistance.   Simply email the Neighbors Day committee at lacrescentneighborsday2006@gmail.com  or call Betsy Knowles at 507-895-8866 for more information.

La Crescent Neighbors Day is a partner program of La Crescent Area Healthy Community Partnership, cosponsored by the City of La Crescent and Applefest, and partners with ISD #300 Community Education.
